Frontier Institute Statement in Support of HB 336
Legislation will help alleviate Montana’s healthcare worker shortage.
HELENA – Today, the Frontier Institute offered support for HB 336, a bill that follows our recommendations to reduce apprenticeship red tape and to reform healthcare licensing to alleviate Montana’s healthcare worker shortage.
“Red tape should never stand in the way of an employer looking for help and workers eager to build skills,” said Tanner Avery, Policy Director at Frontier Institute. “HB 336 ensures that hardworking apprentices don’t face unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles to gaining the licensure they are fully qualified for.”
HB 336 creates additional pathways to professional licensure by allowing apprenticeships as an alternative to traditional education.
Frontier Institute has long championed reforms that:
- Cut apprenticeship red tape so that Montanans can use this important path to work.
- Reform professional healthcare licensing by modernizing existing laws and increasing license mobility and processing efficiency.
